Advertiser disclosure

WeDoPoints earns commissions from certain partner links. This page explains exactly how that works — and how we keep our recommendations independent of who pays us.

Last updated: May 2026

WeDoPoints.com participates in affiliate programs with credit card issuers and other partners. This page explains what that means, how it affects our content, and what we do to keep our recommendations honest.

What an affiliate relationship is

When you click certain links on this site — typically “Apply Now” buttons or links to a card’s official application page — and you go on to apply for and be approved for that product, the card issuer pays us a referral fee. This is the same model used by every major personal finance site, including NerdWallet, Bankrate, The Points Guy, and Credit Karma.

We are compensated by the following types of partners:

  • Credit card issuers (American Express, Chase, Capital One, Citi, Bank of America, and others)
  • Affiliate networks that aggregate offers from multiple issuers
  • Booking partners and travel tools we recommend

What our affiliate relationships do not affect

Our recommendations are not for sale

Compensation does not affect which cards we cover, the star ratings we assign, or the order of our recommendations. Read our editorial policy and methodology for the safeguards in place.

Specifically, an affiliate relationship does not determine:

  • Whether we recommend a card
  • The star rating we assign
  • The position a card holds in any “best of” list
  • Whether we include positive or negative analysis
  • Whether we update the review when terms change

Our editorial team is structurally separated from our business team. The editor who decides which card tops our “Best Travel Cards” list does not know the commission rate of any card. Rankings are produced first, against our published methodology — affiliate links are added afterward.

Cards we don’t have an affiliate relationship with

We cover cards we don’t earn commission on. Examples include several credit union cards, some Schwab and Fidelity cards, and certain co-branded business cards. When we recommend a card we don’t earn from, we say so directly in the review.

Conversely, there are cards offering high commissions that we don’t recommend because they don’t pass our methodology. We won’t list them just because they pay well.

How to support us (or not)

If you find our work useful and you’re planning to apply for a card we cover, using our affiliate links is the best way to support the site at no cost to you — the offer is the same whether you apply through our link or directly. If you prefer not to use affiliate links, you can apply directly through the issuer’s website; we’ll never penalize you in any way, and our recommendations don’t change either way.

FTC compliance

WeDoPoints.com complies with the Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, including the requirement to clearly disclose material connections to advertisers. The disclosure notice at the top of every page on this site exists to satisfy that requirement.
