Editorial Policy

How we research, write, and stand behind every recommendation

Our content is independent. This page explains the rules our writers and editors follow — and the firewall between our editorial team and our business team.

Last updated: May 2026

Our editorial policy explains how we produce content at WeDoPoints — how we research, review, edit, and disclose. It exists so you know exactly what’s behind every recommendation on this site.

Our editorial independence

WeDoPoints maintains a strict separation between our editorial team and our business team. Our reviews, rankings, and recommendations are decided by writers and editors based on the analysis methodology we publish — not by advertisers, partners, or commercial relationships.

No card issuer, loyalty program, or third party has authority to:

  • Approve or pre-review our content before publication
  • Change our rankings, ratings, or recommendations
  • Pay for positive coverage or favorable placement
  • Suppress negative analysis of their products

The simple test: if we say a card is great, it’s because our review process says so. If we say a card has flaws, we say so even when that card pays us a commission. Our credibility is worth more than any single referral.

How we research and write

Step 01

Direct experience first

We carry the cards we review. We book the redemptions we write about. When we can’t hold every card we cover, we work from current terms, recent applications, and member reports — and we say so.

Step 02

Verified data

Every fee, earning rate, welcome bonus, and benefit cited in a review is verified against the issuer’s official terms at the time of publication. We don’t repeat figures from other blogs without independent confirmation.

Step 03

Editorial review

Every article is reviewed by at least one editor before publication for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to our methodology. Major reviews go through a second pass for fact-checking.

Step 04

Ongoing updates

Card terms change. Programs devalue. We review and update card reviews at least quarterly, and immediately whenever an issuer makes a material change. Update dates are visible on every review page.

Corrections and errors

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Corrections to material facts are made promptly and noted at the bottom of the affected page with the date of the change. Readers who spot errors can email us through the contact page — we appreciate the help.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to assist with research, outline drafts, and copy-editing. We do not publish AI-generated content as-is. Every article on WeDoPoints is written and edited by a human team member, and every fact is verified by a human before publication.

Sponsored content

We do not publish sponsored content, advertorials, or paid reviews. If we ever do — for example, sponsoring a podcast or video — it will be clearly labeled and separated from editorial coverage. Affiliate links inside editorial content are disclosed in our advertiser disclosure.
