Advertiser Disclosure
WeDoPoints may receive compensation from advertisers, card issuers, affiliate partners, sponsors and travel providers. This page explains what that means for readers.
The plain-language disclosure
Some links, offers, advertisements and product references on WeDoPoints may create revenue for the site. We may be paid when a reader views an advertisement, clicks a link, applies for a card, books travel, purchases a product or completes another qualifying action.
Compensation may influence which offers are commercially available to display. It should not determine the editorial conclusion, erase important drawbacks or turn every recommendation into the same answer.
WeDoPoints does not promise to include every available advertiser, card, issuer, travel provider, rate or offer.
Who May Compensate WeDoPoints?
Commercial relationships may include several types of companies and payment arrangements.
Credit card issuers
We may receive compensation when a reader applies for or is approved for an eligible card through a qualifying link.
Travel providers
Airlines, hotels, cruise lines, booking platforms, insurance companies and tour providers may participate in affiliate or advertising programs.
Advertising networks
Display-ad networks may place advertisements based on the page, audience, location or other factors.
Sponsors and partners
A company may sponsor clearly labeled content, newsletters, tools, events, courses or other educational projects.
What compensation can—and cannot—change
Commercial relationships can affect which offers are available to us, where ads appear and whether WeDoPoints earns revenue from a reader action. They should not buy the editorial answer.
Credit Card and Issuer Disclosures
Card offers are especially sensitive because terms change and approval decisions belong to the issuer.
Offers can change
Welcome bonuses, annual fees, earning rates, statement credits, lounge benefits and eligibility rules may change without notice.
Approval is not guaranteed
Issuers control approval decisions, credit limits, eligibility, application rules and account terms.
Verify the live application page
The issuer’s current application page and governing terms control when they differ from older content or summaries.
Not every card is included
WeDoPoints may not have access to every available card, issuer, offer or referral relationship.
Value depends on the traveler
A card may be useful for one family and a poor fit for another based on spending, airport, travel patterns and annual fees.
Education is not financial advice
Card content is general education and does not replace individualized financial, legal, tax or credit advice.
How We Label Commercial Content
Readers should be able to recognize the relationship without hunting through fine print.
| Content type | How it may earn money | Expected disclosure | Editorial treatment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affiliate link | Commission after a qualifying action | Disclosure near the content or link group | Compared with practical alternatives |
| Credit card offer | Compensation for application, approval or another agreed action | Card-specific advertiser disclosure | Current terms should be verified with the issuer |
| Display advertisement | Payment for impressions, clicks or network activity | Visual separation or ad labeling | Advertiser does not author the surrounding article |
| Sponsored content | Direct payment or other consideration | Clear sponsored or paid label | No guaranteed positive conclusion |
| Hosted experience | Free or discounted stay, trip, ticket or access | Material benefit disclosed | Retail value and limitations still considered |
Our Commercial Red Lines
These practices do not fit the WeDoPoints standard.
Sponsored content should not be disguised as independent editorial work.
Payment cannot predetermine a favorable score, ranking or recommendation.
Advertisers should not remove material fees, restrictions, exclusions or risks.
We should not invent deadlines, scarcity or pressure unsupported by the live offer.
The advertiser’s product should not replace the reader’s travel goal, budget and alternatives.
A commercial partner should not prevent a necessary factual correction or update.
